The new Pyris 6 TGA Thermogravimetric Analyzer from PerkinElmer is a low-cost, easy-to-use system that was designed for quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and educational applications. The analyzer provides many features that enhance ease of operation, productivity and reliability. A companion to the economical Pyris 6 DSC Differential Scanning Calorimeter, the Pyris 6 TGA now completes PerkinElmer's offerings for most routine thermal analysis applications.
The Pyris 6 TGA features a top-loading balance, which is ideal for QA/QC applications. The balance is also mounted in a stainless steel housing, providing a larger heat capacity that nearly eliminates temperature gradients. A reliable, corrosion-resistant furnace improves temperature measurement reproducibility with a large isothermal zone. In addition, the Pyris 6 TGA's furnace provides the highest available cooling speed. Conversely, heating up to 1000°C takes less than four minutes.
For ease of use and better compositional analysis, the Pyris 6 TGA contains a built-in gas switching and flow controller device. This allows automatic switching from one purge gas to another (such as from inert nitrogen to air or oxygen).
The Pyris 6 TGA features a state-of-the-art, reliable and rugged Autosampler for unattended operation. The Autosampler holds up to 45 samples and uses shape memory alloy grippers for exceptional reliability and fail-proof operation.
