Double-amalgamation atmospheric mercury measuring equipment Atmospheric mercury has been historically measured by wet absorption and reducing-vaporization, but is now on its way to being replaced by gold amalgamation for reasons of sensitivity, accuracy, operability, collecting time, and the avoidance of other such problems. The model WA-4 is intended for re-heating the column collected by gold amalgamation and then measuring the mercury. This model incorporates systems that remove any interfering substances collected along with the mercury.
