Liquid Light Cross Process Flow Cell with Reference Channel
The process flow cell "LiLiX" was developed especially for the use with NIR spectrometers in production environments. The process flow cell is optimized for the UV/VIS/NIR (200-2500 nm) spectral range and offers an extraordinary high transmission typically > 60 %. The optical path length can be adjusted from 1 to 20 mm with spacers. The optical path length reproducibility is excellent as each spacer's thickness is manufactured to within 0.01 mm.
LiLiX In order to compensate influences from the fiber optics, the "LiLiX" flow cell is equipped with a reference channel operating with the same path length as the sample channel. This feature guarantees optimal performance with NIR spectrometers. The liquid connection port is designed for 6 mm stainless steel pipe work and comes with "Swagelok®" fittings. The flow cell will be delivered with FSMA 905 fiber optic connectors and can be operated with fiber optics diameters from 200 µm to 900 µm.
As an option the “LiLiX” flow cell can be delivered with DIN 47256 fiber optics connectors. In order to tolerate a wide range of liquids, the “LiLiX” flow cell can be manufactured from different materials (standard SS316) and a broad range of different sealing materials are also available, e.g. Kalrez®. The “LiLiX” flow cell is especially suitable for integration in sample conditioning units and can be operated with liquids up to 200 °C and 3000 kPa and as a special feature the “LiLiX” flow cell optics can be flushed continuously with air or inert gas to prevent condensation.
LiLiX, integrated The process flow cell “LiLiX” is used for applications such as petrol, diesel oil, drinks, alcohol, beer, paraffin oil, cooking oil, etc. In order to achieve optimal flow dynamics, the sample chamber and fittings have been optimised to reduce turbulence. The unique sample chamber shape guarantees a continuous exchange of product at the surface of the sapphire windows. Even the undesirable generation of gas bubbles inside the sample chamber has no negative effect on the measurement. The moment the gas bubbles develop they are flushed out with the product stream.
LiLiX - Service Kit The “LiLiX” flow cell can be easily disassembled and assembled for maintenance purposes. The easy handling and simple construction allows a fast cleaning procedure of the sapphire windows and ensures an excellent path length reproducibility. Recommended spare parts and service tools can be supplied in the accessory and service kit which includes sapphire windows, O-rings, torque wrenches, etc. In order to protect the fiber optic connections special protection caps (IP 65) are supplied with the service kit but can also be ordered as accessory parts on.
