The Company was formed in December 2002 as a spinout from the University of Southampton, with the support of Southampton University's Enterprise Office, the CEI, and benefiting from its partnership with IP2IPO.

The Company develops and pioneers novel methods for the synthesis of peptides and proteins from their constituent parts, amino acids. Using these synthetic methods as an advanced technological platform, the Company is able to produce a wide range of peptides and proteins to order that are difficult to make via other techniques. Particular expertise focuses on difficult to synthesise sequences, non-natural modifications, and the design and synthesis of highly effective peptide immunogens.
