QUANTAX is one of the most powerful systems available for energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis in SEM's, TEM's, and electron microprobes.
Several system levels and a multitude of options are available for scaling and tuning of QUANTAX for a wide range of analytical tasks and application environments. Systems of all levels provide state-of-the-art qualitative as well as true standardless quantitative chemical analysis. A standard based Φ(ρ, z) quantification package is optionally available for dedicated analytical tasks.
The intuitive user interface, the flexible project management package and various options for quick and comprehensive report generation compliment the analytical toolboxes. The individual ESPRIT software tools are designed for easy and intuitive operation; yet include many powerful options for expert users.
Whether you prefer a Si(Li) detector with liquid nitrogen cooling or a liquid nitrogen free XFlash detector with innovative SDD technology, or even multiple detectors on a single analyzer, our X-ray detectors provide the highest reliability and the best performance available.
Hardware The QUANTAX system hardware is comprised of a state-of-the-art Windows system computer, X-ray detector, signal processing electronics and an I/O adaptor with integrated scan system. Detectors
Detectors QUANTAX can be equipped either with innovative, liquid nitrogen free XFlash silicon drift detectors (SDD) or with a liquid nitrogen cooled Si(Li) detector featuring the unique UHV Dewar technology for ultimate transmission stability and very low LN2 consumption.
Signal Electronics The new Hybrid Pulse Processor combines analog and digital pulse processing techniques for optimal exploitation of the different specific capabilities inherent to both SDD and Si(Li) detectors. Spectra are collected by a digital signal processor and stored in the internal 4096*32bit MCA. The electronics unit provides versatile interfaces for full remote control as well as ultra high speed data transfer.
I/O Adaptor with Scan System The IO-Scan Adaptor PCI board provides the interface between the signal electronics and the system computer. It allows the connection of up to four X-ray detectors simultaneously via the proprietary MegaLink interface. Included as well is a full featured scan generator for external beam control with wide range analog XY-outputs and software selectable scan resolution up to 4096 x 4096 pixels. It accepts two independend analog image signals (i.e., SE and BSE) and provides eight programmable pulse counters.
