The modular design of the DSC 404 C Pegasus® makes it possible to equip it with up to four different furnaces for an extremely broad temperature range of -120°C to 1650°C, various DSC and DTA sensors and a variety of crucibles. The vacuum-tight construction of the system allows performance of quantitative enthalpy and cp determinations in a pure gas atmosphere or under vacuum (10-4 mbar). In addition, coupling to an FTIR or MS is no problem at all. The adjustment system for the sensors and furnace has proven itself, particularly for applications in the broad temperature range, in achieving optimal, reproducible baselines - a basic requirement of the exact measurement of the specific heat. The DSC 404 C Pegasus® can also be equipped with the following optional components:
- mass flow controller for three gases
- CC 200 L liquid nitrogen cooling system for the low-temperature furnace
- turbomolecular pump for measurements under high vacuum and for creation of pure gas atmospheres
The DSC 404 C Pegasus® is ideal for determination of thermodynamic properties of ceramics and metallic high-performance materials in aeronautics and astronautics, in machine and automobile manufacturing and in the electronics industry.
