The MC-ICP-MS AXIOM (originally developed by VG, later distributed by Fisons Instruments and finally Thermo Elemental) is a double focussing mass spectrometer. It is equipped with 10 Faraday cups and 3 electron multipliers. Its mass resolution is continously adjustable between 400 and 10.000Res. Thus, it allows the identification and elimination of most of the ICP specific interferences.
