Lipoplatin is a proprietary liposomally-encapsulated drug product of the FDA-approved, commercially-available cytotoxic agent cisplatin. In the Lipoplatin product, cisplatin (cis-diaminodichloroplatinum) is encapsulated in a liposome shell composed of dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl glycerol, soy phosphatidyl choline, cholesterol and methoxy-polyethylene glycol-distearoyl phosphatidylethanolamine lipid conjugate. The ratio of cisplatin to lipids is 8.9%:91.1% (w/w).
