Carcinogenicity
Beryllium and beryllium compounds are known to be human carcinogens
based on sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in humans. Beryllium
and beryllium compounds were first listed in the Second Annual Report
on Carcinogens as reasonably anticipated to be human carcinogens based on
carcinogenicity in experimental animals; however, the listing was revised
to known to be human carcinogens in the Tenth Report on Carcinogens in
2002.
