Description
|
A quantity of 76se-enriched selenomethionine was prepared from 76Se-enriched selenium obtained from a commercial supplier. Structural confirmation was performed by NMR and MS. The organic purity was found to be greater than 98.5 % by UV-HPLC. The isotopic abundance of the major selenium isotope (76Se) in this material was checked using double-focussing sector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Intended Use The materials is intended to supporting the food industry for the characterisation of selenium in bio-fortified foods. The primary use of this material is as a spike material for the determination of selenomethionine by species-specific isotope dilution with HPLC-ICP-MS, in combination with a standard of selenomethionine with natural composition. keywords: Foodstuff, Speciation analysis, Selenium speciation |
