IAP2022 is part of the IAP biennial conference series which addresses the key role played by (bio)interfaces and (bio)colloids in environmental processes. The scope includes topics of societal concern such as environmental protection, (bio)remediation of polluted sites, optimisation of mineral resources, impacts of nanotechnology residues on the environment, and the key role played by interfaces in governing the fate and behavior of pollutants in the environment from both fundamental and applied perspectives

Submissions are welcome in a range of topics including:

  • (Bio)colloids and (bio)interfaces, including the nature of colloidal interactions and the stability of dispersions
  • Equilibrium and dynamic features of pollutant interactions with natural and engineered (bio)colloids and (bio)interfaces
  • Nature and timescale of interfacial processes governing the chemical and biological reactivity of pollutants
  • Techniques for characterisation of (bio)interfaces and analysis of (bio)interfacial processes that influence pollutant fate and behaviour
  • Field studies on natural and agricultural systems
  • Solution-oriented research that exploits the reactivity of (bio)interfaces and (bio)colloids in (bio)remediation and wastewater treatment.
  • Strategies for incorporating fundamental knowledge on the reactivity of (bio)colloids and (bio)interfaces in environmental risk assessment.
