predicted no effect concentration

The predicted no effect concentration (PNEC) is an estimate of the concentration of a potential hazardous substance for which no harmfull effect is expected. This value is obtained from toxicological dose-response data by applying uncertainty factors appropriate to the uncertainty of the available data.
