United Kingdom's Food Standards Agency granted derogation to Chromium (III) compounds as a food supplement
(20.03.2005)
Several producers of food supplements containing Chromium(III) compounds such as Chromium Picolinate and Chromium polynicotinate received green light from United Kingdom's Food Standards Agency for continued sale of their products in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The FSA approval provides a four-year window in which the companies can continue to sell their Chromium containing products while the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) reviews their dossiers. If approved by the EFSA, it will result in formal adoption as approved sources of trivalent chromium into EU legislation.
