The 4th international conference on Instrumental Methods of Analysis IMA05 will take place in the Mediterranean Island of Crete, 2 - 6 October, 2005. The Conference Center of the Aldemar Knossos Royal Village Hotel is located on the sandy shores of northern Crete GREECE, 25 Km from the city of Iraklion, and within walking distance from the port town of Hersonissos.
For the last five years IMA has provided an excellent framework for the presentation of new concepts, instruments, methods, systems, and applications in the area of modern chemical analysis. Researchers and scientists from universities, research institutions, state organizations, and the industry come together during the meeting to present and experience the current state of the art in the area of instrumental methods of analysis. At the same time, it provides the grounds for the graduate and post graduate students to present their projects, discuss scientific collaborations with other groups, as well as to explore employment opportunities.
The topics to be covered by the IMA 2005 conference
- Chemical sensors, immunosensors and biosensors
- Spectrochemical methods
- Electrochemical methods
- Sampling, sample preparation and handling
- Separation techniques
- Hyphenated techniques (HPLC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS etc.)
- Micro analytical systems
- Trace analysis and speciation
- Chemical analysis in quality and doping control
- Laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Commercial developments and markets
In addition to these main categories, the scientific committee will accept contributions of papers that are relevant to the field of Instrumental Methods of Analysis in general, describe important new concepts, or provide insights of analytical processes and methods, as well as novel applications in the area of chemical analysis.
Contributions from commercial organizations are encouraged, including detailed descriptions of new instrumentation, specific applications, and assessment of future commercial trends and opportunities.
