6th International Symposium on Speciation of Elements in Biological and Toxicological Sciences

This interdisciplinary conference with a 15-year long tradition follows those organized in Bergen, Norway, 1991; Leon, Norway, 1994; Port Douglas, Australia, 1997; Whistler, Canada, 2000; and Almuñécar, Spain, 2003. Its main objective is to discuss in an informal atmosphere (about 80 participants) recent advances in the environmental chemistry, biology and medicine of trace element species.

Conference venue
The venue is located near the eastern border of Poland, ca. 200 km from the Warsaw International Airport in the last remnant of Europe's once extensive primeval forests. In this ancient forest, European bisons still roam free, and while hiking or cycling along the tourist routes a meeting with a European bison, or other animals such as deer, wild boar, wolf or lynx, can be expected. Hundreds of birds can be heard in the trees overhead, and colourful flowers and strange and exotic mushrooms abound in the forest undergrowth. Conforming to the tradition of the previous meetings of this series, an extensive social program with a local touch will accompany the scientific sessions.
