The conference will seek to include the latest developments in each of these four topics, in respect of both the characterisation of particular proteins and enzymes that involve the metal centres specified and complementary coordination chemistry. Thus, the latter studies provide low molecular weight analogues of the active centres of proteins and enzymes that are informative in their own right and serve to calibrate the spectroscopic techniques used to probe corresponding metal centres in biological systems.

Who should attend?

These scientific investigations are truly interdisciplinary and will encourage collaboration between a wide range of scientists including biochemists, coordination chemists, spectroscopists, protein crystallographers, electrochemists and all scientists interested in the roles of metal ions in biological systems.
