The leading trade fair where manufacturers, service companies, universities, bioregions and start-up's can present innovations to decision-makers in science who are willing to invest.
analytica 2008, which is being held from April 1 – 4, will be accompanied by the analytica conference
on the first three days of the fair. In a total of 27 symposium discussions, scientists from around the world will examine the
latest trends in analysis, diagnostics, molecular biology and biochemistry.
Presentations will revolve around practical applications for these new
techniques, which range from water and environmental analysis to
aspects such as forensics, doping and food inspections. Another focal
point is biotechnology, the motto of which is "From Gene to Life".
As a key component in analytica's exhibition concept, the analytica
Conference has established itself as a summit for researchers and
scientists from around the world who meet at the fair in Munich to
exchange information on the latest developments in university research.
Some 27 symposium, each with between two and six lectures, are in
preparation, and special emphasis will be placed on putting these
findings to practical use in the laboratory: Once again, topics on the
2008 agenda will include consumer protection and the
latest trends in environmental and water analysis, food analysis,
forensics and – to go with the year of the Olympics – the topic of
doping. The latest challenges when developing analysis methods is the
focus of interest in the industrial sector – focal points include
nanotechnology, the use of optical sensors in production and analysis
combined with material research and surface technologies.
Many lectures at the 2008 analytica Conference will deal with the latest findings and developments in biochemistry and bioanalysis.
Among other things, panel topics will include cell biology, proteomics,
bioinformatics and DNA-array and protein-micorarray technologies.
analytica Conference will be hosted by three scientific associations, i.e. the GDCh (German Chemical Society), the
GBM (Association for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) and the DGKL
(German Association for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine) in
the halls of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. The conference's
international significance is underscored by the involvement of the
European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS), an
umbrella organization for nearly 50 chemical associations in more than
30 countries in Europe, and its Division of Analytical Chemistry.
The analytica Conference is free of charge for visitors attending analytica.
