The aim of the SCOR Working Group 139 is to improve scientists’ understanding of the role of organic metal-binding ligands in oceanic biogeochemistry through an interdisciplinary collaboration of members comprising trace metal biogeochemists, organic geochemists, and biogeochemical modelers.
Day 1 & 2 - Hands-on training workshop:
This workshop is aimed at students, postdocs and other researchers who want to improve their skills in voltammetric organic ligand analysis using state-of-the-art methods, instrumentation and software. Due to logistical reasons this workshop is limited to 20 people. Please register early if you are interested in this hands-on training.
Day 2 to 5 - SCOR WG 139 open Symposium
This open symposium aims at everybody interested in organic ligands in the marine environment and the work the SCOR WG 139 has been doing in the last 4 years.
The symposium is structured in four different Discussion Sessions:
- Metal-binding Ligands in DOM
- Ligand Characterization
- Data Interpretation
- Ligands in Global Models
Each session will be kicked-off by one or more invited plenary lectures that will give an overview on current knowledge, followed by generous time for everybody to give input and discuss the topic.
