Finally, a spectrometer that doesn’t require a compromise between throughput and resolution! Newport’s new MMSTM (Multimodal Multiplex SpectroscopyTM) Spectrometer, the Oriel Matrix, is a truly revolutionary instrument; its unrivalled throughput and SNR let you measure very weak signals in the 190 to 500 nm spectral range, with a resolution of 0.6 nm. Applications such as fluorescence, thin film reflectance, and atomic emission are ideally suited to this new instrument. Conventional spectrometers generally use a narrow entrance slit, which defines the system resolution - the narrower the slit, the higher the spectral resolution. The tradeoff lies in the fact that very little light can pass through a narrow slit; this results in low light throughput and therefore compromised sensitivity. The Oriel Matrix Spectrometer is based on an encoded wide area aperture, which yields up to 12X the light throughput of a traditional slit-based spectrometer.
Key Features
- 12X more throughput than traditional spectrometers, without compromise in resolution12X more signal to noise ratio, for measurement of very weak, scattering or diffuse sources
- Free space, for greatest input flexibility
- Completely integrated system - ideal for Researchers and Systems Integrators
- Commanded by simple-to-use, powerful spectroscopy software
