For unrivaled sensitivity, reproducibility
The Agilent 1200 Series refractive index detector is the ideal detector for fast and reliable HPLC results when analyzing non-UV absorbing substances, such as carbohydrates, lipids and polymers. This is also the detector of choice for gel permeation chromatography.
Features
- Autozero can be programmed as part of a method, which balances the photodiodes electrically, and ensures unattended operation of the detector.
- Higher signal-to-noise ratio is enabled by a minimum baseline noise. At trace level lower limits of detection can be achieved, e.g., in carbohydrate analysis amounts as low as 10 nanogram sucrose can be detected.
- Electronic temperature regulation maintains a steady optical unit temperature up to 55 °C.
- Countercurrent heat exchangers keep the optical unit–and the flow cells– at a constant temperature.
- EPAC technology perfectly insulates the optics from heat-generating internal electronics as well as from environmental interference.
- Optimum light level is adjusted automatically to compensate for lamp degradation and flow cell staining. Measuring photodiodes maintain excellent, unwavering performance.
- 1200 Series electronic design enables a reproducible digital signal path without external A/D converters.
- Thermal design allows initial setup in typically less than two hours. Warm-up of the module is generally less than one hour for fast startup.
- To avoid warm-up time at all the detector is kept at operation conditions and the recycle valve helps to save solvent costs.
- System can purge the reference cell automatically. Early maintenance feedback (EMF) is available with user-settable limits on time between purging.
