The Verein der Zellstoff- und Papier-Chemiker und -Ingenieure (ZELLCHEMING) [Association of Chemical Pulp and Paper Chemists and Engineers (ZELLCHEMING)] was founded in 1905 and is thus the oldest technical/scientific association of its industry worldwide.
The founders stipulated at the time of foundation, that the association should not have a nation in its name in order to keep it open for everybody that is involved with the production of chemical pulp and paper as well as its supplying industry. The association has kept this international character until today - more than 20 % of its members are foreigners.
