The new Generation of Ultra-Sensitive Ion Traps opens up new performance levels for any kind of analytical requirementsDelivering 10x improved MS/MS sensitivity over current platforms, novel technology for accelerated data acquisition and Zero Delay AlternatingTM at 20Hz MS acquisition rate, highly enhanced mass resolution, and the latest edition of ETD/PTR technology, this ion trap reaches unrivalled data quality and extreme flexibility for a broad variety of applications. amaZon builds upon Bruker’s vast experience in ion trap technologies, and is designed specifically to enhance capabilities in research areas such as proteomics, metabolomics, compound screening and identification, and detailed chemical analysis. The new amaZon incorporates key inventions for unprecedented capabilities: First commercial introduction of a dual ion funnel transfer line in ion traps, delivering absolute benchmark sensitivity. This follows Bruker’s highly successful microTOF-QTM and maXisTM, mass spectrometers with absolute benchmark sensitivity specifications in their market segments. - Unrivalled scan speed of 52,000 u/sec at better than unit resolution for fastest UPLC applications and a maximum duty cycle in data-dependent MS/MS and MSn.
- Ultimate ion trap mass resolving power up to 20,000 in full scan mode across the 50-3000 m/z range. In combination with Bruker’s patented peak recognition technology SNAP IITM, e.g., the isotopic peak resolution for highly charged ion species in ETD/PTR fragment spectra and the confident determination of their monoisotopic masses are provided.
- The Latest ETD/PTR technology offering the most efficient, extremely robust and sensitive peptide and protein fragmentation. Building upon the very successful ETD technology commercialized first by Bruker, the combination of bottom-up CID or ETD and top-down ETD/PTR provides new methodologies for detailed protein characterization in, e.g. the unambiguous elucidation of post-translational modifications and the full coverage of the amino acid sequence including N- and C-termini. The unique connection of high resolution with the unsurpassed m/z range enables the direct top-down analysis of intact proteins up to 30 kDa.
- Zero Delay AlternatingTM for high speed ion polarity switching without sensitivity and time compromise. Up to 20 Hz MS data acquisition in both polarities provides for an ideal combination with fast UPLC separation. Supported by spectral MSn libraries, the amaZon is the ultimate mass spectrometer for MS/MS based multi-compound screening.
The amaZon series is configured in two versions:
amaZon ETD for proteomics amaZon X for small molecule analysis and associated applications.
