With novel Q-q-TOF geometry for sensitive and highly accurate MS/MS analysis in proteomics identification, de-novo peptide sequencing, complex mixture analysis and other life science applications. The ultrOTOF-Q™ provides highest resolution (> 20,000) and mass accuracy (< 2ppm) of parent and fragment ions for the study of small molecules, proteins, and non-covalent complexes.
Next-generation ESI source The advanced ion optics of the Apollo™ Electrospray source significantly improves ion transmission and pushes the detection limits in today’s demanding proteomics, metabolomics, and drug discovery research.
Advanced calibration stability Novel technology maintains the accuracy of the calibration for parent and fragment ions without the need of recalibration using external or internal standards – paving the way for reliable automated long term experiments such as multidimensional chromatography in proteomics research.
High-performance Qq-front end The ultrOTOF-Q features a high-performance quadrupole mass filter and a specially designed quadrupole collision cell which accumulates parent or fragment ions prior to mass analysis and optimizes the duty cycle for increased sensitivity. The new mass filter and collision cell technologies ensure that the entire range of fragment ions is available for the time-of-flight mass analysis.
Unprecedented mass resolution The ultrOTOF-Q achieves superior mass resolution of >20,000 (fwhm) without compromise in sensitivity. With the patented MultiPass™ technology, the ultrOTOF-Q delivers an unprecedented mass resolution of >40,000. The novel Focus™ technology further increases the resolution over a very broad mass range, including the low m/z peaks associated with small molecule MS and MS/MS spectra. Focus is particularly useful for obtaining structural information and accurate mass information on natural products and metabolites.
Compass software for maximum productivity The easy-to-use ultrOTOF-Q control software leverages the full potential of the instrument with sophisticated automatic data-dependent MS/MS scan functions. The Compass™ software suite adds comprehensive chromatography system support, complete data processing software, and powerful tools for data interpretation – including BioTools for protein sequence confirmation, RapiDeNovo for sequencing of peptides, and MetaboliteTools for metabolite prediction and identification.
Applications
Exact mass analysis The detection and data recording system of the new ultrOTOF-Q features ultra-fast dual micro-channel plates and advanced ADC (analog-to-digital converter) technology, which improves the dynamic range of the mass spectrometer and eliminates dead-time effects. As a consequence the ultrOTOF-Q records true isotope patterns, enabling exact mass analysis and formula finding algorithms.
In-depth protein analysis Unprecedented resolving power, excellent mass accuracy and full fragment mass range are particularly useful for de novo peptide sequencing. With the capability to perform true precursor scans the ultrOTOF-Q is an extremely useful instrument for the detection of phosphorylated peptides and other post-translational modifications.
