SCARA-BIO is a revolutionary workstation for liquid handling, based on the SCARA robotic system (a robotic arm which can move along two rotational axes). This compact design enables performance and flexibility with a very small footprint saving vital laboratory space. The open architecture provides a modular approach: the same basic design can be adapted to handle capillary tubes, microplates, sample vials etc.
The platform is connected to an external liquid system - syringe, membrane or peristaltic pumps can be used, according to the application.
A high sensitivity conductivity sensor may be fitted to the bottom of the unit to act as a liquid sensor. This provides a safety mechanism as well as ensuring the system is functioning according to its design. The liquid is dispensed by a mono tip which is available in two versions: - Mono tip fixed (steel made, coated in Teflon)
- Mono tip disposable (both of 200ul and 1000 µl)
It is possible to install a bar code reader to identify univocally the sample.
