Kratos has developed a new MALDI TOF Mass Spectrometer AXIMA CFR for application to the field of proteomics and other high throughput biochemical applications such as combinatorial chemistry, micro-satellite and SNP analysis.
AXIMA-CFR provides the user with a combination of high: mass accuracy, resolution, and sensitivity with high throughput sample handling using a 384 spot microtiter sample format MALDI target.
In AXIMA-CFR we have incorporated
- a unique curved field reflectron for generating seamless PSD of peptides, carbohydrates and low molecular weight compunds,
- high performance ion gate which allows reliable selection of parent signals for fragmentation from complex mixtures,
- camera for viewing samples using non-uniform matrix preparations and large format unconventional samples,
- a novel laser beam focusing mechanism is employed to maximize the yield of ions extracted from the source to the flight tube, thereby enhancing sensitivity in sample detection,
- near Ultra High Vacuum also for improved sensitivity,
- high performance, ion optic system optimized for resolution,
- an integrated 1Ghz transient recorder to maximize resolution and accuracy - no need for a separate oscilloscope.
AXIMA CFR uses the unique LAUNCHPAD FOR PROTEOMICS software featuring, powerful Nested-PSDTM, Kratos On Line Analysis (KOLATM). This can be used in combination with a dedicated search engine software routine for expanding the automated on line analysis for fast effective protein identification.
LAUNCHPAD includes automated programs covering auto-tuning, auto-selection of parent ions for seamless post source decay( sPSD ) to automated results handling presentation and data archiving. Kratos Analytical can provide you with the tools for protein identification.
