The GCMS-QP2010 Plus shows the highest sensitivity ever reached in a GCMS system. Ideal for rapid analysis of trace components, the GCMS-QP2010 Plus is the ideal instrument for complex organic mixtures in fields from forensics to environmental and food and flavours sciences. Intelligent software solutions like LRI (Linear Retention Index) and AART (Automatic Adjustment of Retention Times) make analysis not only easier but also secure. For highest sensitivity of target compounds and easy identification of unknowns in the same run, Scan and SIM can be set in one method file.
Optimised hardware for highest sensitivity
Based on the successful GMS-QP2010 the ion source of the new GCMS-QP2010 Plus was optimized for highest sensitivity. A powerful Dual Inlet turbo pumping system increases the sensitivity and enables high column flows. Compared to the previous model a doubling in sensitivity could be reached and so the GCMS-QP2010 Plus is also ahead of competition.
Maximum Flexibility
Highest flexibility in method development is achieved by the increased mass range from 1.5 to 1090 and the independently heated ion source in a range of 100 to 300 °C, also for compounds with high boiling points and which are difficult to analyze like e.g. brominated flame retardants.
Intelligent software solutions
Unique for Shimadzu: the automatic LRI (Linear Retention Index) calculation gives optimal security for the identification of unknowns from complex samples. Unambiguous results can be achieved by the library search function with integrated LRI. Next to the general purpose NIST 05 library Shimadzu offers a special library for flavours and fragrances (FFNSC Ver. 1.2, Flavour and Fragrances Natural and Synthetic Compounds) with LRI´s.
AART (Automatic Adjustment of Retention Times) identifies and quantifies all compounds automatically after a column change, without compromise in analysis parameters (also with constant linear velocity mode for best chromatographic resolution) – easy and fast!
Fast GCMS: FASST (Fast Automated SIM/Scan Type)
With FASST a new chapter of Fast GCMS is opened by Shimadzu. The GCMS-QP2010 Plus with its fast quadrupole offers the possibility to acquire Scan as well as SIM data on one peak. Quantitation of both data sets is also possible. For quantitative analysis the number of data points on a peak is the mostly important for the quality of the results. With a data acquisition frequency of 50 data points per second in Scan mode and up to 100 in SIM mode data of excellent quality are obtained. The quality of the library search is also determined by the quality of the spectra. Shimadzu with its long experience in Fast GCMS guarantees this highest data quality.
