Calibration types
Up to 10 point calibration method or two point method of additions with a choice of linear or polynomial regressions and the option to force the calibration regression through zero.
Background Correction
PPB – Polynomial Plotted Background correction characterizes the background around the wavelength of interest using a polynomial algorithm. OBC – Off-peak Background Correction uses either a single point linear extrapolation or two point linear interpolation.
P.C. control
Full PC control of auxilliary and plasma gas flows, power setting, wavelength selection, viewing height and horizontal viewing position, filter and grating order selection, PMT selection, peristaltic pump speed plus Smart Rinse and Fast Pump. Automatic mercury line wavelength calibration at power up. Programmable mercury line reslope.
LIMS support
Data can be directed to a serial port for real time transfer to a LIMS. Sample labels can be transferred between a LIMS and Plasma 96.
Data import/export
Results can be transferred directly into 3rd party packages using DDE. In addition, data can be exported during run or post-run in ASCII or PRN formats.

Autosampler
SPS-5 Sample Preparation System random access autosampler. Magnetic rack recognition.
Choice of 5 rack types (500, 150, 50, 25, 10 mL) and overlays for different test tube sizes. Up to 10 standards plus 400 samples at one time, for 10 mL tubes. Inert polypropylene construction.
Diluter
Optional autodiluter for SPS-5, performs on-line overrange dilution. Up to 3 serial dilutions on-line. Precision 20 mL syringe design. All inert construction – teflon holding coil ensures no solution enters syringe. Optional software for off-line preparation of single or serial sample dilutions, multi-element standards, addition standards and reagent addition. Dilution volumes from 0.02-500 mL. Maximum dilution ratio (off-line) 1:25,000. Unique Smart-Mixing ensures homogeneity without splashing. Typical dilution error for a 1 in 20 dilution to 20 mL <1%.
Vapor Generation
VGA-77P Vapor Generation Accessory. Modular continuous flow vapor generator for the determination of Hg, As, Se, Sb, Te, Bi and Sn at µg/L concentrations. Typical precisions 1-2% RSD. Compatible with SPS-5 autosampler.
Nebulizers
U 5000 AT ultrasonic nebulizer. Inert polymeric v-groove with high dissolved solids capability.
Microconcentric nebulizer.
Organics Kit
Includes a cooled spray chamber, torch and tubing used in the analysis of volatile organic solvents e.g. gasoline.
AGM-1
Used to add oxygen to the auxiliary gas to eliminate carbon formation and reduce molecular band structures when analysing organic solvents.
AGM-2
An auxiliary gas module that provides a nitrogen purge for the monochromator and
pre-optics to extend the working wavelength range down to 175 nm. Suitable for axial or radial air-path instruments.

Fume Extraction
Spectrometer must be located under an extraction system which provides a minimum flow of 6 cubic metres per minute (200 cfm) at 16 mm water gauge static pressure. The exhaust must be ducted to an external vent.
