LAMS-50K, the world's first MALDI-TOF MS instrument was released employing the first soft lazer desorption method (lately known as MALDI - Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization) Relevant papers were read at Japan-China Joint Symposium on Mass Spectrometry (Sept. 1987) and published in Rapid Communications in Mass Spetrometry, USA (1988).
