AccuScreen includes a smart, surface-position sensing sample chamber, reproducible loading chute and LT Industries’ proven one-thousand-wavelength NIR spectrometer — all supported by an excellent Windows-based software package.
AccuScreen improves laboratory efficiency Your laboratory operations generally involve samples that reside in standard containers — vials, cups or Petri dishes. AccuScreen is the first NIR spectrometer system that conforms to your operating style. Simply place a sample container on the loading chute and the system takes over. The sample loads and analysis commences. Results appear on-screen in seconds and are logged in the software audit trail function.
Better data NIR is a very powerful technique. It requires development of a chemometric calibration over time and then compares each new test sample with a statistical model that encompasses both physical and chemical changes. Using the AccuScreen system, samples are not touched by any sampling device. Light beams do all of the work, so there is no sample compaction or distortion. Fewer physical changes mean that chemometric calibrations are more robust. Data variance is reduced and therefore, analytical results are more reliable.
Simple to use The instrument is remarkably free of buttons, switches or dials. The AccuScreen control software runs every aspect of instrument operation, data acquisition, calculation, archiving and display so that you don’t have to. And you can trust it. Each scan of the spectrometer includes a minimum of thirty operational system checks to assure that everything is running the way that it should. You load the sample and start the scan. The system does the rest within a minute!
Cost effective Acquisition cost of the AccuScreen system is low. Compare price and performance with other productive laboratory instruments on any basis — price, per-sample cost, reagent cost, disposables cost, analytical time, maintenance cost — and you’ll be favorably impressed. It’s all because of LT Industries’ NIR Spectral Engine technology. It’s better.
The heart of the contact-free sampler A unique combination of NIR beam focus and coaxial position sensing allows the AccuScreen system to illuminate uncompacted powder or loose granules to a depth determined by sample particle count, size and reflectivity. When insertion probes are used with NIR, sample material is compressed in a non-reproducible manner. Compressed samples are more resistant to light penetration and may cause apparent shifts in absorption peaks. AccuScreen systems eliminate those potential error sources. Because operators do not interact with the sample during measurement, another source of analytical bias is eliminated.
Sampling procedure A wide-mouth open container is best suited for use with the AccuScreen system. Powder or granulated sample material is simply poured into the container so that the top surface is roughly level. Mechanical leveling is not required. The sample container is placed onto the open sample chute frame. When activated, the sample will slide into position. For samples that must be protected form spillage, air or moisture effects, the sample container may be covered with glass. Most glasses do not have a NIR spectral signature, even when the glass surface has irregularities.
