A new server for EVISA's web portal
(28.09.2022)
While the EVISA server was running the last 19 years without any major failure, it was time to move to a more modern system. The main reason for updating our system was not its reliability but the lack of supporting encryption via the HTTPS protocol.
The new server is supporting HTTPS for all pages of the EVISA web portal. One of the major benefits of HTTPS is its data encryption. The data that travels through HTTPS always gets encrypted. Thus, the information is highly secured. Even if hackers manage to get those information, they will not be able to misuse them since the data is already encrypted.
Will You see a great difference ? Perhaps You will not notice a big difference, however the browser will show a closed lock aside of the URL, indicating a secured transmission. While the encryption being used for all pages on the EVISA server is an additional load for the system, you will recognize an even faster response.
What are the benefits of the HTTPS protocol ? The green padlock which appears on a secured site can give peace of mind that the EVISA website can be trusted, and their information is safe. The HTTPS protocol protects users against man-in-the-middle (MitM) attacks that can be launched from compromised or insecure networks.
Will old bookmarks still work ? All links to former HTTP pages on the EVISA portal will automatically be guided to the new HTTPS pages.
We hope that the enhanced security of the new EVISA server is giving you trust in EVISA's services and is motivating you to visit its web portal.
With more than 17000 pages full of information, the EVISA web portal is the primary information source for all those interested in trace element determination and speciation.
